Enable-Mailbox and aliases with a "1" appended to them
When running the enable-mailbox command against an existing account in AD, the mail alias generated is appened with a "1" at random. For example, if a user in AD has a username(samaccountname) of testuser and I run the enable-mailbox command, the alias created is testuser1 and not testuser. This can be fixed after the fact by doing get-mailbox testuser1|set-mailbox -alias testuserAny ideas on how to prevent the behavior from happening in the future and/or why it is doing this? There are no other exchange-enable objects in the directory with the same username (obviously) or existing alias (if there were another object with an alias of testuser, then the set-mailbox -alias testuser command after the fact would not work)Thanks.

Hello Cahs, You have the option -Alias that can be used in the enable-mailbox cmdlet to specify the current alias. Have you tried this one?

I haven't used it yet, was thinking that would be the next thing to try. If anything, I wanted to know what was causing this behavior. I'll add that to my script and see if I can get consistent results. Thanks.
